Archive Past Projects

We support the Media Archive for Central England as part of our core funding. They are based in Leicester and serve the East and West Midlands regions. Here is some more information about them:

MACE

The Media Archive for Central England is an independent charity currently housed by the University of Leicester. See our full address. We are the recognised body responsible for collecting, preserving and making accessible the moving image heritage of the East and West Midlands. MACE forms the final part of a network of public sector national and regional moving image archives who collectively care for the United Kingdom's moving image heritage and form the membership of the UK Film Archive Forum.

Borderlines Film Festival
River of Life Archive Project

The River of Life project is a unique adjunct to the Borderlines Film Festival which provides an opportunity for local audiences to view archive film material that directly reflects Herefordshire’s culture and history.  Since its pilot in 2004, the River of Life project has increased its audiences year on year, with 1,727 attendances in 2006, many of whom would not normally attend a film festival.  The complete River of Life programme achieved the largest single audience for any screening during the 2007 festival, with an audience of over 300 people.  As well as the festival screenings, River of Life also tours throughout the year to community organisations and venues.
