More funds for Screen Heritage!
On 17 October 2007, James Purnell, Minster of State for Culture, announced his support for the UK Screen Heritage Strategy by confirming £25m of new Capital funds to be distributed by the UK Film Council.
In addition, the UK Film Council also confirmed an additional allocation of £3m lottery funds to create a Digital Archive Fund.
This is really good news, and we would like to thank everyone who responded to the consultation, took part in the consultation event last August and generally helped to raise the profile of the Screen Heritage sector. Screen WM will be working hard with its partners, including MACE our regional archive, over the coming months to ensure that the region benefits from these new funds and moves forward with new and innovative digital archive projects.
