There are a number of important smaller archives and collections in the region including:

Digital Handsworth - This a general archive for this famous community in Birmingham which became home to many of the first people arriving from the West Indies in the 1950s. It contains photos, video clips and text documents. Well worth a visit!

BeMe project, Wolverhampton - The BE-ME Project has used audio and videotape oral history recordings to record and preserve the histories of African-Caribbean and Asian communities who have settled in Wolverhampton since the 1940s.

Staffordshire Film Archive - The Staffordshire Film Archive collection comprises of a range of film media relating to the West Midlands region. It includes local archival collections associated with industries in the area including transport, the potteries and provides a unique perspective on the social history (particularly relating to workers) of the region.

The collection has many 1000's cans of film (16 & 35mm), 1000's of glass negatives, Beta-SP and VHS viewing copies.

The BFFS - The BFFS is a national body which promotes voluntary film exhibition and represents the interests of film societies in the United Kingdom. It receives some financial support from the UK Film Council (UKFC) and works with other bodies such as local Arts Boards and the lottery commission to support film societies.
