What do the following have in common: a magical sketchbook where your drawings come to life; a newly-wed couple stranded in the wilderness; an elderly lady with an interesting habit and the reincarnation of a medieval legend?
The answer, as those paying attention to www.digishorts.co.uk will know, is that they all feature in this year's latest slate of digishorts films, produced with financial support from Screen WM and the UK Film Council's New Cinema Fund.
As well as the characters above, this year's films also tackle subjects as diverse as students working as prostitutes to fund their studies (an increasingly serious issue in the UK) and a child's introduction to the all-too-real world his dad lived and breathed in. There's some challenging and powerful material, as well as genuinely funny and touching moments, and I can't wait to show them to you.
To be among the first to see this eclectic bunch of films from the West Midlands' brightest new filmmakers, head on over to Light House in Wolverhampton on October 16th.
