BREAK GENDER STEREOTYPE, GIVE TALENT A CHANCE

Raising the awareness of companies about combating gender stereotypes

The Women’s Business Development Agency's new initiative “Break gender stereotypes, give talent a chance” launched by the European Commission to help SMEs to better understand the benefits of combating gender stereotypes in the workplace.

Highly skilled and loyal employees are the most precious resource for small and medium-sized enterprises. This initiative aims to assist SMEs in Europe to increase their productivity and boost their competiveness by breaking down the invisible barriers created by gender stereotypes, thereby maximizing the potential of their employees.

“Break gender stereotypes, give talent a chance” provides: practical ways to look at your human resources from different perspectives; a “toolkit” for full and better use of individuals talents within a company; training workshops on how to gain competitiveness through gender equality action; consultancy and information; and opportunities to boost your company’s visibility.

The West Midlands Region will host the three one day events with UK and European Members of Parliament, Business and community leaders from the Region and Entrepreneurs from Midlands Creative Industries.

On July 7th – Local Governments and Midlands Universities will be examining their roles in creating an enabling environment for small and medium-sized enterprises.

On July 8th – National and Regional Chambers of Commerce and business support organizations will explore how to increase effective and dynamic support to small and growing businesses.

On July 9th – Owners of small and medium-sized enterprises from Creative Industries will be sharing their strategies for making the most from the talents of their staff.

There is no charge to attend the events; however spaces are limited so booking is essential.
