National Schools Film Week is the biggest event of its kind in the World. This year, NSFW takes place 15-23rd October in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and 2-6 November in Scotland. Now in its 14th year, it is a unique festival which provides schools across the UK with free trips to the cinema. With culture and the environment high on the education agenda, more and more teachers are turning to film as the unique medium that can deliver complex information to a young audience in a meaningful and accessible way.
The focus of National Schools Film Week for 2009 will be Creativity and Diversity, themes relevant to both primary and secondary school children.
Again the programme will feature a range of current and forthcoming films to address topical and challenging issues shown from a variety of different perspectives. Screenings take place at 10am in local venues.
