Now in its third year, the Local Shorts Film Club showcases local short films by both established professionals and up and coming newcomers.

The quarterly events regularly attract film-enthusiasts as well as members of the filmmaking community, such as writers, directors, composers and other creatives.

The evenings are free and the series of events aims to establish new links across the creative landscape.

The Library Theatre in Birmingham City Centre with its large screen and quality sound system offers for many filmmakers the very first opportunity to screen and test their work in front of a real audience and gain feedback.

The venue also has a licensed bar which is open before and throughout the film clubs, allowing for vital and effective networking.

Q&A sessions after each film allow the audience to feedback to the filmmakers, creating connections, opportunities and dialogues.

These discussion sessions are lively, stimulating and engaging and make Local Shorts Film Club truly unique: the only film club of its kind in the West Midlands.

At each event a guest speaker will be taking to the stage to discuss their work and experiences, giving valuable insights into the world of professional film-making.
 
Local Shorts Film Club is being enjoyed by a wide variety of people, and its non-competitive nature creates a unique, informal atmosphere, a breath of fresh air in an otherwise very competitive industry.

Local Shorts Film Club - an event in association with Film First - is run by It's About Time Productions and is supported by Screen WM and The National Lottery through the UK Film Council.
