Channel 4's 4iP
Screen WM has entered into a partnership agreement with Channel 4’s 4iP Fund to provide dedicated investment into innovative digital media projects.
Channel 4 and Screen WM are dedicated to not just watching the digital revolution; but shaping it – by turning powerful concepts into thought-provoking content and services. Whether you’re a one person team or a large operation, anywhere in the UK – if you have a digital vision that fits with Channel 4’s values and audience, Channel 4 would like to hear from you.
Naturally a sustainable and profitable business model will be vital. But the big question is: are you passionate about making an impact? Will your concept resonate with the pulse of digital culture at Channel 4, and amplify it? If so, 4iP might get on board and help you make it a reality.
Channel 4 has earned a strong reputation for charting new cultural territory, whether in lifestyle, music, fashion, food or technology. To guide your thinking a little, Channel 4 has created ongoing briefs for digital concepts that fit with C4’s direction.
Before submitting your ideas, please read the full submission guidelines, available on the 4iP website. If you are individual with an idea for a project that has particularly strong social values, you might like to also consider 4iP UnLtd funding. (link)
How to apply ...
The application and commissioning process has been designed to be as fast and effective as possible in the early stages, with a simple online submission form. Submit your outline ideas online via the 4iP website at http://submit.4ip.org.uk/
Over the next few months 4iP will publish calls for proposals across a range of themes. Each theme will be aligned with some of Channel 4’s key programming and audience strengths. Every call for proposals will come with a lovely, tasty, meaty brief, identifying the audience and market opportunities.
All proposals will be considered as long as they support truly innovative use of digital media and demonstrate genuine public value. 4iP’s editorial focus will be on working with the best talent from around the region both individually and within more established businesses.
What happens next ...
Step One: Proposals reviewed by 4iP Digital Media Manager and Screen WM's Head of Innovation
Step Two: The best ideas will be developed with 4iP Digital Media Manager before being pitched to Channel 4's 4iP steering group for endorsement
Step Three: Channel 4 endorsed projects will be invited to submit full and detailed application to Screen WM online
Step Four: Projects which meet Channel 4 and Screen WM objectives and criteria for the fund will be invited to pitch to Screen WM. Approved projects will be submitted to Screen WM's 4iP investment panel for final endorsement.
