The paintings of David Barrow are set to inspire in a new

exhibition at St Paul’s Gallery in Birmingham

An exclusive exhibition of David Barrow’s Wigan Casino paintings will open on
21st November. They depict the inspirational dance and music of the Northern
Soul scene.

Barrow’s paintings are synonymous with the music of the era, and as such have
been used for the covers of various music albums by greats such as Ocean
Colour Scene. In fact a new piece is to feature on their latest album “Live at the
Town Hall”. Devotees of David Barrow’s paintings include Paul Weller.
His paintings are so much a part of the Northern Soul scene that earlier this
year he became involved with the Art Direction of a new film about Wigan
Casino called ‘Souled Out’ by Ipso Facto films. Information for which will be
available at the gallery, and some props from the film will also be on display.
Barrow has had many prestigious exhibitions of his work including four hangings
in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, and his work is collected worldwide.
St Paul’s have been appointed official distributors of David Barrow’s Art.
10% of all sales will go to the charity Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy.
