Media Archive for Central England (MACE) are currently involved in Full Circle a Heritage Lottery Funded project that will:
• Create relationships with community groups across the Midlands who are interested in local history such as community archives, local history groups and local museums.
• Give groups the opportunity to increase their understanding of the importance of the moving image as a historical document through presentations by MACE.
• Support groups in a search for film in their community.
• Process films that are found and return them to the community for interrogation, cataloguing, presentation, research, etc.
• Develop relationships with a number of schools to ensure that they benefit from whatever is found in their community.
MACE are keen to contact community groups that are active and might be interested in getting involved with the project. In addition, they would like to know about schools that have shown an interest in using film in the classroom – particularly in relation to local history.
So if you are a member of any such groups or are awareof any that might be interested in getting involved in this kind of project please contact Richard at MACE rs228@leicester.ac.uk / 0116 252 5967
