18 May 2009 2:40 PM

b.TWEEN 09 the forum that attracts big players from digital media and independent creatives has announced tickets are on sale.

Having made its name by combining the creativity of small companies with the commercial clout of large agencies, b.TWEEN has now expanded to straddle two cities in its fifth year.

Industry delegates from across the media landscape will be treated to two days of inspirational sessions, workshops and thought provoking ideas exchange at FACT (Foundation for Art & Creative Technology) in Liverpool. Meanwhile, MoSI (Museum of Science & Industry) in Manchester is gearing up to host b.TWEEN’s  public showcase of the latest interactive creative technology.
Katz Kiely, MD, Just-b. Productions, responsible for designing and delivering b.TWEEN says: “Not only do we live in financially challenging times but many business are built on out dated models that will prove untenable for the future.

Increasingly we are seeing the solutions to these challenges emerging through collaboration between indie talent and big players across the media landscape embracing the latest creative ideas.”

Through in-depth case studies from commissioners, producers and agencies, b.TWEEN explores how creative organisations are using connected technologies in innovative ways to start conversations with new audiences, users and consumers. The forum will feature a range of high level speakers from forward-thinking businesses across advertising, brands, broadcast, social media, mobile, games and Web.

b.TWEEN uses innovative technology to bring social networking into the real world. Using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) system, delegates and speakers can “bookmark” their b.TWEEN experiences in real-time, recording moments of interest, the people who inspired them and exchange contact details.

b.TWEEN engages a global audience by webcasting live to the world and projecting a chat-room into the main presentation space enabling real interaction between remote viewers in over 100 countries, delegates at the venue, and speakers on the stage.

First to be announced are Matt Costello - a groundbreaking writer working across games, TV, interactive platforms and novels - and Mark Earls (Herd) who will share his significant expertise into social media, people behaviour and how to influence it.

After attending b.TWEEN 08 Nicole Yershon, Director of Innovative Solutions, Ogilvy UK, is a passionate advocate: “This event is unmissable. an industry gathering like no other. I found new talent there last year that have helped me deliver a series of ground breaking digital solutions. b.TWEEN is THE place to learn about the very latest  trends and to extend business networks with people you couldn't get to meet else where.”
