The International Community Film Forum (ICFF) and the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education in the West Midlands (NIACE) supported by Screen West Midlands are seeking short films dealing with issues of cultural diversity depicting adults or families (not children solely).
In NIACE terms we look for subject matter from the widest possible sources which might support or raise awareness and improve understanding between different cultures. The films might also:
* Celebrate the similarities and differences between cultures
* Encourage community cohesion
* Provide support in challenging racism, xenophobia and intolerance
* Promote intergenerational learning between the older and younger sections of the community.
A selection of films submitted will be screened during Adult Learners' Week in May 2010 as part of NIACE's Cultural Diversity Weekend at a suitable venue in the West Midlands.
We regret that we are not able to offer payment for screenings, but trust you will consider that this is an opportunity for film producers and directors to showcase their work to the public free of charge.
All films should be submitted by 15th December 2009. For further information on how to submit your DVD please contact Dr Ian McCormick ian.mccormick@easynet.co.uk in the first instance.
