Santa has arrived early for West Midlands film makers, John Bradburn and Andy Paton.
Their short film THE GLOAMING, produced by Roger Shannon for Birmingham film company swish and backed by Screen WM / UK Film Council as a Digital Short in 2008,
has been selected for the prestigeous London Short Film Festival where the film will receive its World Premiere on Sunday January 10, 2010.
THE GLOAMING is an experimental horror film, whereby a newly-married couple become stranded in a deserted wood and must try to survive.
The film's co writers and co directors, John Bradburn and Andy Paton, will introduce the film at the London Short Film Festival and lead a q + a afterwards.
The film features Susan Momoko Hingley and Dario Pianese in the two lead roles.
The film was shot by cinematographer Graham Dunn, whose credits also include the award winning feature film, DEAR FRANKIE directed by Shona Auerbach.
John Bradburn and Andy Paton are West Midlands based independent film makers who cite experimental feature films by Bruno Dumont and the Dardennes Brothers as key narrative and aesthetic influences. John and Andy have also been short listed by the UK Film Council for the national scheme, Digital Nation, for their new film DISTANT which will be produced by Roger Shannon. Roger Shannon is a Birmingham based producer, whose credits include the following - LAWLESS HEART, FESTIVAL, BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE, I COULD READ THE SKY amongst other titles.
