speaker:

Keynote Speaker: Rt Hon Andy Burnham MP, Secretary of State for Culture, Media & Sport.

This exciting national conference will focus on the government’s “Find Your Talent” scheme and other policy initiatives which seek to unlock children’s talent through culture, creativity and the arts.

In bringing together schools, children’s services, cultural services and the creative and cultural sector, this major event will look at how to deliver the government’s ambitions to provide children and young people with 5 hours high quality culture and creativity per week, in and out of school. Delegates will explore how to commission and coordinate networks which ensure schools and young people have access to creative resources and cultural institutions. The event will explore the implications for the curriculum and for teaching in order to improve learning outcomes.

The conference will also present innovative approaches to increase cultural entitlement outside the classroom and will look at the role of extended schools. Delegates will also hear how they can meet outcomes for children and young people through the latest plans being developed through other multi-million pound government initiatives such as the Play Strategy, Music Manifesto and ‘Engaging Places’.
