Production and Development

clubbed

Clubbed is the feature film debut of Coventry-based screenwriter Geoff Thompson, and is based on the Screen WM-funded, BAFTA-nominated Digital Short Bouncer (2002).

The film is semi-autobiographical, taken from Geoff's life as a factory worker turned bouncer then writer, and loosely adapted from Geoff's best-selling book Watch My Back. The story is set in the 80s Coventry nightclub scene, and is a coming of age tale of Danny's fight to overcome crippling low self-esteem by confronting his fears and demons on the doors of Coventry nightclub.

The director is Neil Thompson, who has directed over one hundred and fifty music videos for all the major record companies, over fifty television commercials for some of the world's leading brands, two award-winning short films and worked as a producer/director in broadcast television.

The producer is Martin Carr and the production company is Formosa Films. Clubbed wrapped principal photography in April 2007.
