Who is it for:

  • Freelancers

  • Recently established partnerships and micro enterprises
  • Those with little business acumen who need introducing to the essentials of self and business management

Participants receive:

  • 8 training sessions/one day workshops (1 x 2 days and 7 x 1 day), approx 1 per month.

These are

Programme Induction – One Day

The aim of the workshop is to introduce participants to the drive level 1 programme and to identify their personal management style.

Developing Your Business – One Day

The aim of the workshop is to determine business planning processes and identify key legal requirements including media law and copyright

Getting the Best Out of People – One Day

The aim of the workshop is to develop people management skills through improved team building, communication and training technique

The Dreaded Finance Stuff – One Day

The aim of the workshop is to recognise and work with key financial information necessary to manage a business

Making Things Happen – One Day

The aim of the workshop is to develop and practice the essential elements of project management, risk and managing change

Marketing for Results – One Day

The aim of the workshop is to review methods of research, competitor analysis and strategic marketing development

Programme Review – One Day

The aim of the workshop is to review personal development as a result of the programme and clarify final project and presentation requirements

Accelerate Presentation and Graduation – One Day

The aim of the day is to review final project presentations and to award Screen WM drive level 1 Certificate in Management to successful candidates.

  • 1-2-1 learning support/coaching sessions to discuss personal development and progress
  • Assistance to complete short work based reviews
  • Business development and action planning
  • Participants will also have telephone and e-mail support available from the Course Director

Participants complete:

  • 4x 1,500 word business reviews/action plans (approx 2 sides of A4) on the subjects covered at the workshop specific to your business. These are returned to the Course Director for learning evaluation and feedback
  • ‘Accelerate Report’. A 5,000 word report on a review of your business and make recommendations for moving the business forward. The content of the report must reflect the core elements of the drive level 1 programme. This is then submitted to the Course Director for review and feedback. Participants then make a 10 minute presentation and face 10 minutes of questioning at the Accelerate Presentation and Graduation event.
  • The programme requires participants to read three management and personal development books as part of the programme knowledge requirement. Books will be determined by Screen WM and Mcphedran Co Uk prior to the marketing of any new drive scheme.

Participants are required to sign a programme attendance contract to confirm that they will attend all sessions and complete all that is required, in return for the support offered to them as part of drive.

The total value of this training programme to each beneficiary is £4,100. We therefore ask for a 5% contribution of the value of this programme (£205) from each participant upon agreeing to join the programme.

All monies owed must be paid to Screen WM before the beneficiary can begin to receive support.
