drivedrive level 2

Who is it for:

  • SMEs already in existence and trading, but need to develop their business idea to accelerate their growth.
  • In particular – targets those who are starting to, or already employ other people.
  • Builds on the knowledge and skills acquired in level 1

Participants receive:

  • 8 training sessions/one day workshops, approx 1 per month

These are

Programme Induction – One Day

The aim of the workshop is to introduce participants to the drive level 2 programme and to identify their personal management style.

Developing a Business Strategy – One Day

The aim of the workshop is to develop a long term business planning strategy and ensure key legal requirements including media law and copyright are considered

Performance Management – One Day

The aim of the workshop is to cover employment law and review structures and people management issues

Negotiation Skills – One Day

The aim of the workshop is to develop and practice critical skills in negotiation for results

Managing Change – One Day

The aim of the workshop is to explore issues affecting people, business and the media industry and how to react to and manage effective change

Presentation and Communication – One Day

The aim of the workshop is to develop effective presentation skills and focus on high impact communication techniques

Programme Review – One Day

The aim of the workshop is to review personal development as a result of the programme and clarify final project and presentation requirements

Accelerate Presentation and Graduation – One Day

The aim of the day is to review final project presentations and to award Screen WM drive level 2 Certificate in Business Management to successful candidates.

  • 1-2-1 learning support/coaching sessions to discuss personal development and progress
  • Assistance to complete short work based reviews
  • Business development and action planning
  • Participants will also have telephone and e-mail support available from the Course Director

Participants complete:

  • 4x 1,500 word business reviews/action plans (approx 2 sides of A4) on the subjects covered at the workshop specific to your business. These are returned to the Course Director for learning evaluation and feedback
  • ‘Accelerate Report’. A 5,000 word report on a review of your business and make recommendations for moving the business forward. The content of the report must reflect the core elements of the drive level 2 programme. This is then submitted to the Course Director for review and feedback. Participants then make a 10 minute presentation and face 10 minutes of questioning at the Accelerate Presentation and Graduation event.
  • The programme requires participants to read three management and personal development books as part of the programme knowledge requirement. Books will be determined by Screen WM and Mcphedran Co Uk prior to the marketing of any new drive scheme.

All participants are required to sign a programme attendance contract to confirm that they will attend all sessions and complete all that is required, in return for the support offered to them as part of drive.

The total value of this training programme to each beneficiary is £4,100. We therefore ask for a 5% contribution of the value of this programme (£205) from each participant upon agreeing to join the programme.

All monies owed must be paid to Screen WM before the beneficiary can begin to receive support.
