Who is it for:

  • Directors and Senior Managers of established key Birmingham based screen media organisations
  • Participants must be able to demonstrate sufficient business understanding to benefit from the programme at this level. For example, have previously undertaken a programme of development and have moved their business on as a result

Participants partake in:

  • 8 executive development hubs (over 12 months).

These are:

Programme Exploration – One Day

The aim of the workshop is to introduce businesses to the drive level 3 programme and to identify programme specific events and support.

Yet Again, The New Media Company – One Day

The aim of the event is to review future new media trends and learn successful techniques from current high profile organisations.

Real Creative Leadership – One Day

The aim of the event is to establish best practice in creative industry leadership and how effective leadership influences successful case study companies.

Innovation Works: Ideas Into Action – One Day

The aim of the event is to explore innovation, innovative thinking technique and case study examples of how innovation can be turned into action.

Secrets of Great Companies – One Day

The aim of the event is to review successful companies in the creative industries and identify the factors that make then different

Group Specific Subject One – One Day

The aim of the event is determined and facilitated by the group on a topic specifically relevant to the businesses within drive level 3.

Group Specific Subject Two – One Day

The aim of the event is determined and facilitated by the group on a topic specifically relevant to the businesses within drive level 3.

Future Thinking and Programme Review – One Day

The aim of the day is to present future ideas for developing individual businesses and to review the impact and value of the drive level 3 programme.

Potential Group Specific Subject Workshop Options

The final two Executive Hubs are determined by the group based on their feedback. Options could include:

Strategic Finance – Acquisitions and mergers, venture capital, investments, floating your business.

The Role of the Director – An overview of what a board is responsible for, the role of a director and legal requirements.

The International Market – Research into marketing overseas in the creative industries.

  • Assistance to complete business checks and review
  • 3 x 2 hour one-to-one coaching sessions with the Course Director

Telephone and e-mail support available from the Course Director.

Participants complete:

  • 6 x ‘business checks’. A short post-hub reflection summary on the content of the hub and what implications the topic or ideas may have on the individual business. 1,500 strategic business element reviews on the subject covered at the previous hub, specific to your business. Reviews are returned to the Course Director for learning evaluation and feedback
  • Future Thinking Ideas Review. Ideally, no more than 1500 words reflecting on the company’s planned development in moving forward, preferably linking ideas generated from the drive level 3 programme.
  • The programme requires managers to read three management and personal development books as part of the programme knowledge requirement. Books will be determined by Screen WM and mcphedran co uk prior to the marketing of any new drive scheme.

All sessions take place at Screen WM offices, unless otherwise advised.

Participants are required to sign a programme attendance contract to confirm that they will attend all sessions and complete all that is required (as detailed above) in return for the support offered as part of drive.

The total value of this training programme to each beneficiary is £4,100. We therefore ask for a 5% contribution of the value of this programme (£205) from each participant upon agreeing to join the programme.

All monies owed must be paid to Screen WM before the beneficiary can begin to receive support.
