Programme Director: Alec McPhedran
Alec is an experienced director of the learning and development company, McPhedran co uk. The business provides training for busy creative people. He has previously held senior roles with Channel 4, FT Knowledge, The Pearson Group, Railtrack, Henley Distance Learning and The Open College. This range of learning management and broadcast experience uniquely places him as a key provider of high level multiple people development projects.
Alec's former roles have included being part of the UK Ofcom Task Force to set the Memorandum of understanding for Training in the Broadcast Industry, a director of the Research Television for Television and Interactivity, a board member of the Northamptonshire Learning and Skills Council, director of the National Council for Drama Training, chair of the Scottish Broadcasters Development Group and member of the Skillset TV Skills Strategy Group. He specialises in one to one coaching for senior people and professionals in the creative industries and supporting SME growth.
As a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Alec is passionate about developing people. He specialises in designing and delivering tailored learning supported by one to one coaching. He is a Certified Practioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming and a member of the Association of Coaching. He is also a member of BAFTA and the Royal Television Society.

He operates as a part-time Finance Director and Business Advisor for a number of West Midland based creative companies. He is also involved in fundraising and advises on contract negotiations.
