Skills Development

film skills bursariesCamera

Specifically targeting high level writers, producers and directors, film skills bursaries aim to give film professionals that little extra help in funding craft training and development courses, for which there is no other form of monetary support available.

Maybe what you’re after is already funded at source, or you’re a full time permanent employee so you’re unable to apply to any other Screen WM development fund. The film skills bursary may be able to help.

We have a small pot of RIFE lottery funds available that can award up to 30% of the beneficiary cost of the course or programme (excluding VAT) or £200 – whichever the lesser, plus a contribution towards your travelling expenses if the programme of development is located outside the West Midlands region.

With a deadline every month until the end of the financial year or until all the cash is allocated, we aim to give you an answer within a maximum of 10 weeks of your submission, so you’ll need to plan ahead.

As our financial year has ended we are assessing new funds and will post details of any new bursaries as soon as they are confirmed.
