Research into skills development within the screen media industry is extremely important and constantly taking place. The findings from this research allows us to deliver the most effective programmes which meet the needs of the industry in the West Midlands.
Latest research - Looking Forward report!
Looking Forward was a half day workshop, organised by Screen WM and Skillset and took place in Birmingham in January 2008.
The event was attended by delegates from the following audio visual sectors: Animation; Exhibition; Facilities; Games and Interactive Media; Television.
All delegates were based in the West Midlands region and were tasked to explore:

Challenges the West Midlands audio visual industry faces in developing creative talent
In addition to specific sub-sector issues, there were also a number of common cross-sector skills gaps identified.
This report reveals the findings of the Looking Forward event including the priorities for action identified by each sub sector and recommendations for future strategy development.”
